Get Involved

Calling all volunteers!

There are many ways to get involved at LPE.  We hope that you will consider joining a committee or volunteering with us in whatever way works for you.

Please fill out our Volunteer Interest Survey below to see what opportunities might be a good fit for you. We can then connect you with the right people! We understand that availability may change throughout the year.

We add new volunteer opportunities to our volunteer page on an ongoing basis, so check back throughout the year.

Some volunteer opportunities (such as field trip chaperones) will require that you fill out a volunteer application through BLS. Now would be a good time to apply or check your status as a returning volunteer here.

Whether you can help once or on a regular basis, we appreciate any time that you can give to help our school. Thank you!

what is folpe?

What is folpe?

We are excited to introduce Friends of La Pine Elementary (FOLPE), our school’s Parent Teacher Collaborative (PTC). FOLPE is comprised of dedicated parents, community members, and teachers who work together to enhance the education and enrichment of our diverse public school.

What is FOLPE, what do we do, and how can you help?

Increased Parental Involvement

PTCs encourage and facilitate parental involvement in school activities and decision-making processes. When parents are engaged and take part in school affairs, it creates a positive and supportive environment for students. Increased parental involvement is linked to improved academic performance, better attendance rates, and reduced behavioral issues among students.

Enhanced Communication

PTCs serve as a channel of communication between parents, teachers, administrators and the school community. They provide a platform for sharing information, discussing concerns and fostering open dialogue. Effective communication leads to better understanding, collaboration, and cooperation among all parents, creating a more cohesive and informed school environment.

Fundraising and Resource Allocation

PTCs often organize fundraisers and other initiatives to raise funds for the school. These extra resources can be used to support various educational programs, extracurricular activities and infrastructure improvements. PTCs play a crucial role in mobilizing financial support from parents and the community and enriching the educational experience.

Volunteer Support

PTCs rely on volunteers to organize and execute their activities. This volunteer support can extend to various school events, classroom assistance, mentoring programs and more. The PTC's network of engaged parents provides a valuable resource for schools to tap into, enhancing the overall functioning and capacity of the school.

Educational Enrichment

PTCs often organize educational programs, workshops, guest speakers, field trips and other initiatives aimed at enriching students' learning experiences. These activities provide extra educational opportunities beyond the standard curriculum, broadening students' horizons and fostering a love for learning.

Sense of Community

PTCs help build a sense of community among parents, teachers, and students. They organize social events, family-oriented activities, and collaborative projects that bring people together. This sense of community fosters a supportive network, promotes school spirit, and strengthens the overall school culture.

We invite you to join us in our efforts! Everyone is welcome, together, we can make a meaningful impact on our school and our children’s education.
